Opposition

Opposition is the motion of both thumb and little finger that bring their tips to touch.

Opposition is a fairly complex movement involving multiple muscles. The thumb is first abducted, and then flexed while the metacarpal is pulled toward the fifth digit.

Muscles: abductor pollicis longus and brevis, opponens pollicis and opponens digiti minimi, flexor pollicis longus and flexor digitorum profundus.
